A real treat for Da Vinci Code fans and all interested in that mysterious organisation, the Knights Templars, formed at the times of the crusades in the Holy Land. The London Temple can be found off Fleet Street (check the map on their website). The Temple Church was consecrated in honour of the Virgin Mary in 1185, and was the Chapel that served the the Knights Templars  London headquarters, moving from an earlier site. Formed in Jerusalem and based on the site of Soloman’s Temple, the order of the Knights Templars – who were soldier minks – was formed to protect pilgrims visiting Jerusalem. This church was based on the same design as other Templar Churches – a circular design based on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. After the decline and fall of the Templars, the Temple Church has continued to have a rich history. This is such an interesting place to visit – check the website: www.templechurch.com
