Westminster Abbey is a “must see” for most visitors to London, and it is quite expensive to get entry, but there is a lot to see, and its quite good value for money. Nearest tube is, of course, Westminster.  There has been an Abbey on this site since the 8th Century, which has been added to over the years. Westminster Abbey is where most of  the British Kings and Queens since William the Conqueror have had their coronations, and many are buried here, and the remembrance service for Diana, Princess of Wales was held here. Other famous historical figures are remembered in the Abbey too.

There is a Museum housed in the vaulted undercroft beneath the former monk’s dormitory in one of the oldest areas of the Abbey, housing mainly the collect of funeral effigies. Check the website :www.Westminster-abbey.org
